PART TWO
Fade in to the Ghost Zone. Danny is drifting fast from the vast reaches toward the screen, nearly frozen solid and prone, his arms wrapped around him. Pan right as he passes.
Cut to Danny, shivering audibly. He opens his eyes.
DANNY: Only one person who can help me. (eyes slowly close, then look up) Hope I managed to s-steer myself in the r-right direction.
Danny’s eyes fall closed. He drifts off.
Cut to the Ghost Zone. Danny drifts downward to the right, panning in the same direction. He drifts further from the camera.
Cut to the Ghost Zone. Danny drifts into the shot at close range. He opens his eyes halfway. Then he gasps.
Cut to Danny with his eyes open in shock as he falls downward into a set of ice and snow. He crashes into a snow bank, bouncing offscreen.
Cut to Danny tumbling over a short, 3-foot cliff among several mountains. Pan down as he is buried in snow. About a second later, a hovercraft cones onscreen from the right over where Danny landed, carrying Frostbite and an orange-shirted companion.
Cut to Danny, half-buried and completely unconscious in the snow bank, facing the camera. Pan up to reveal the hovercraft floating behind him with Frostbite and the orange-shirted soldier looking upon Danny's frozen body. The soldier is holding some form of metal pole.
SOLDIER: Object located, sir.
Cut to the two of them. The soldier turns to Frostbite.
SOLDIER: Shall we blast it to bits and prove our superiority?
FROSTBITE: This is no mere object.
Frostbite walks off. The soldier looks confused.
Cut to Danny on the ground, lying there.
FROSTBITE: (offscreen) It is a friend in need!
Frostbite's normal hand reaches onscreen to pick Danny up, leaving a hole where he originally landed.
Cut to Frostbite holding Danny in his arms. He turns to the right.
FROSTBITE: We shall return to the city at once!
Close-up on the unconscious and frozen-solid Danny. Zoom in and fade to black.
An eye opens to a screen of green-blue liquid with bubbles.
Close-up on Danny's eyes through a liquid filter, looking open but sleepy. Then they pop open wide. Zoom out quickly as Danny is at a loss for words, revealed to be suspended in a tank full of the blue-green liquid wearing nothing but his underwear and a face-mask attached to two tubes that form to the bottom. Danny looks in a panic to the right, then the left as Frostbite approaches into the foreground.
Cut to Frostbite looking at Danny's legs.
FROSTBITE: Good morning, Sleeping Beauty.
Cut to Danny.
DANNY: Frostbite! (looks irked) Hey, wait a minute! (eyes look to the left) Where am I?
He looks down and attempts to cover his underwear with his hands.
DANNY: Where are my clothes?
Cut to an orange-shirted medical person typing with one hand at a computer console near an empty tank and a couple of screens on the wall. He holds a piece of paper in his other hand. Pan left to Frostbite looking at a bashful Danny while another orange-shirted ghost is just standing around.
FROSTBITE: This is a medical facility in the realm of the Far Frozen.
He turns to the right, holding out a hand.
FROSTBITE: And you are floating in a de-icing chamber.
Cut to Frostbite. He puts his hand down.
FROSTBITE: Your clothes are in the wash. (clenches his icy left hand into a fist) There were a lot of burrs in your shirt. (eyes widen) As for what happened...
Close-up on Frostbite.
FROSTBITE: I'm afraid you're going to have to tell me, Great One.
Cut to Danny. Frostbite is in the foreground.
DANNY: What I can tell you isn't good.
He looks to the right and puts his hands on his bare, hairless chest.
DANNY: Amity Park? My home,--
He spreads his arms out wide for emphasis.
DANNY: --completely overrun by Undergrowth--
Close-up on Danny as he bobs up and down.
DANNY: --a psycho, freaky plant ghost.
Cut to Frostbite next to a table with Danny looking in the background. A beep is heard and a green hologram materializes in the small projector on the table, turning into a semi-transparent image of Undergrowth.
FROSTBITE: I have heard tell about this "Undergrowth". A powerful ghost he is.
He turns to Danny.
FROSTBITE: Capable of regenerating himself and producing numerous killer offspring.
Close-up on Frostbite.
FROSTBITE: Nearly impossible to defeat.
Cut to Danny.
DANNY: Yeah, tell me about it. (lowers his eyelids) I tried to stop him, (straightens up) but I don't remember much once the cold sensations started taking me over.
Cut to Frostbite looking at Danny's legs.
FROSTBITE: Ah, yes, (holds up a finger) the "cold sensations"...
He runs off to the left.
Cut to a view screen on the wall that shows a silhouette of Danny from front view with a blinking blue spot somewhere in his chest area. Frostbite walks in from the right.
FROSTBITE: Your central core reading indicates extreme cold. (lifts his hand) As if your body is self-generating it.
He puts his hand down and turn to the right.
FROSTBITE: I sensed it within you the last time we met.
Cut to Danny, pressing his hands to the side of the tank in surprise.
DANNY: How is that possible?
Cut to Frostbite with Danny in the foreground. He turns around and walks away from the wall monitor to Danny, laughing.
FROSTBITE: You become invisible, pass through solid objects, and (curls his fingers) emit beams of energy from your hands, and you ask (puts his hands on his hips) how is this possible?
Close-up on Danny.
DANNY: You mean, this is a new ghost power?
Cut to Frostbite.
FROSTBITE: Precisely. (holds up his icy fist) Though new to you it may be,--
Pan right as he holds out his open palm, where a snowball is hovering over it.
FROSTBITE: --rest assured it is an ability very familiar to my people.
The snowball compacts to form a rhombic crystal shape. Zoom out as Frostbite moves the hovering ice crystal to his other hand.
FROSTBITE: We are quite well-trained in its use.
Zoom out. Frostbite, who is holding the ice crystal in his right hand, lets out a beam with his icy left hand onto the floor. He raises it until it completes a perfect ice sculpture of Danny Phantom, with both hands on its hips and a brilliant smile.
Cut to Frostbite holding the sparkling ice crystal. He cups it with the aid of his other hand, separating his hands wider as the crystal grows instantly into a huge icy broadsword.
FROSTBITE: Of course, there are more practical uses for it as well.
He takes it in both his hands and yells out a battle cry, raising the broadsword over and behind his head.
Cut to the smiling Danny ice sculpture. The blade slices right through it showing a diagonal cut through the sculpture's upper hand, just over the waist, and near the other wrist. It slides off on the slope of the cut and falls to the ground with a shatter.
Cut to Danny floating in the tank, pressing his hands to the glass eagerly as he looks upon his fallen, icy disembodied head on the floor with its goofy smile.
DANNY: Teach me!
Cut to Danny, who looks down at his naked-save-for-underpants body.
DANNY: Uh, w-when my clothes are ready.
Cut to Frostbite. He smiles.
Fade to an arena. Loads of orange-shirted people are sitting in the bleachers, practically filling them all up.
DANNY: Why are there so many of--
Pan left to show Danny and Frostbite standing in the center. Danny is shivering.
DANNY: --your p-people watching us?
Cut to Frostbite. He puts his hands on his hips.
FROSTBITE: Ha! It is not every moon that my people get to see their leader train one as legendary--
He puts out his hand and leans over.
FROSTBITE: --as you, oh Great One.
Cut to Danny with Frostbite looking at him in the foreground. Danny is shivering again.
DANNY: You mean (narrows his eyes) they’re hoping I’ll mess up, huh?
Cut to Danny and Frostbite.
FROSTBITE: Indeed. (wraps a hand around Danny) These people live in a frozen wasteland.
He leans his head toward Danny.
FROSTBITE: They take their comedy where they can get it.
Close-up on Frostbite.
FROSTBITE: Now then, lesson one, stop shivering.
Cut to Danny, still shivering.
DANNY: I-I-I-I c-c-can’t!
Cut to Frostbite.
FROSTBITE: This is because the cold is contained within you.
Zoom out as he spreads his hands.
FROSTBITE: And ever since you acquired your ghost abilities,--
He shows a small amount with his fingers.
FROSTBITE: --you have only been letting it out in small amounts.
Cut to Danny, shivering.
DANNY: Like when?
Cut to Frostbite.
FROSTBITE: Every time you sense a ghost is nearby.
Cut to Danny, shivering.
DANNY: My g-ghost sense?
Zoom out as he opens his hands.
DANNY: That’s been a part of this freeze power all along?
Cut to Frostbite with his arm around Danny, who is still shivering. Frostbite holds up an icy finger.
FROSTBITE: But now you must learn to let it out all at once.
Cut to the two of them.
FROSTBITE: Now then. (clenches his fist) Concentrate. (stands up holding up two fingers) Let the energy build until it has nowhere to go but out.
Cut to Danny, shivering.
DANNY: Okay.
He turns to the front with his eyes shut.
DANNY: Here goes.
He starts glowing with a blue aura.
Cut to Danny glowing and shivering with the crowd behind him. He opens up, zooming out as a burst of cold energy just blasts out all over him, completely filling the whole screen with nothing but Danny shouting a catharsis. As soon as that wave is over, Danny falls back on his butt on some very shiny ice.
Cut to Danny sitting on the ground.
DANNY: Hey! Wow! (smiles) It worked!
He lifts his palms from the ground.
DANNY: I feel normal again!
Cut a little closer.
DANNY: No more cold feeling!
He puts down his hands and looks forward.
DANNY: Way to go, Frostb--
Danny stops.
Cut to Frostbite, completely encased in ice. Pan up to show that his expression is frozen in a goofy smile and two thumbs up. The ice sparkles a few times.
Cut to Danny, uneasy.
DANNY: Uh, (points up a finger and speaks quietly) can I get some hot chocolate over here?
Fade to five standing wooden targets in a curve. Pan right to reveal a few more and Danny and Frostbite.
Cut to Frostbite. His hands glow blue and he puts them out, panning left into a periwinkle action background as ice spikes shoot from them.
Cut to three targets. The spikes hit the center in succession. Zoom out as more targets are hit in the dead center by ice spikes.
Cut to the crowd. Several orange-shirts cheer.
Cut to Danny and Frostbite. Danny turns his head to Frostbite. Frostbite puts out his icy hand, offering Danny to try. Danny’s hands glow as he puts them together, trying to charge his ice beam.
Cut to Danny on a periwinkle action background. He shoves his hands forward, panning left as ice spikes shoot out.
Cut to three ice spikes on a periwinkle action background. Three more sail past in front of the first.
Cut to the targets from the side. Pan left as the spikes pass in between them.
Cut to the anticipating crowd. Zoom in as they all gasp.
Action Card reads “SPIKE!” and screams are heard behind it.
As soon as the card clears, Danny is shown. He cringes, putting a finger on his cheek.
Cut to three miserable orange-shirts with arm slings. One of them steps into the foreground. Pan right to reveal more of them looking at Danny and Frostbite in the arena. There appears to be a catapult behind them.
Cut to Danny and Frostbite. They turn to the left.
Cut to the catapult. It winds itself and shoots a disc like skeet practice.
Cut to Frostbite. He leans into the shot and unleashes eye beams.
Cut to the disc in the air. It stops cold as the beam engulfs it and freezes it over. It falls.
Cut to the catapult. It winds again by itself and fires another disc.
Cut to Danny, surprised. Zoom in as he braces himself for it.
Close-up. The disc is reflected in his eyes as it comes toward him, but loops away while Danny is confused by it.
Cut to Danny looking at the flying disc, panning down-left as it flies by.
Close-up on Danny as his eyes turn blue and unleash eye beams.
Cut to the crowd as the disc flies toward them. The ice beams freeze everyone in the crowd nice and solid and sparkling, but the disc just bounces against the wall and onto the ice.
Cut to a shocked Danny standing next to Frostbite.
FROSTBITE: Great.
He storms off and Danny turns to the left.
FROSTBITE: We’re not going to sell any snacks now!
Fade to a bunch of orange-shirts just standing around.
DANNY: (offscreen) Well--
Pan left to show Danny standing next to Frostbite, who is seen from the back. They are standing at the tip of some cliff.
DANNY: --I guess this is goodbye.
He turns his head to Frostbite.
DANNY: For now.
Cut to Danny.
DANNY: I don’t know how I could ever (smiles) thank you and your people enough.
Cut to Frostbite.
FROSTBITE: You can thank us by using your new abilities to rid *your* world of the evil ghost vermin that infests it.
Cut to Danny looking at Frostbite, who is standing in the foreground.
DANNY: Yeah. (looks to the floor) I just…
Close-up on Danny.
DANNY: What if I can’t beat him? (closes his eyes, crestfallen) If I can never go home again.
Cut to Danny and Frostbite. Danny turns to Frostbite and holds out a palm.
DANNY: Maybe I could just… (drops his hand) stay here with you?
Cut to three injured orange-shirts. They all yell “NO!” in unison and exchange glances.
Cut to Frostbite.
FROSTBITE: Fear is natural, Danny Phantom.
He leans down to put a hand on Danny’s shoulder.
FROSTBITE: Charging into battle *despite* the fear is what makes someone a hero.
Close-up on Frostbite.
FROSTBITE: A hero must always believe that he will win.
Cut to Danny and Frostbite. Frostbite lifts his icy hand.
FROSTBITE: And your new abilities just may help.
Cut to Danny. Frostbite removes his hand from around Danny’s shoulders and exits the shot. Danny looks down at his hands, which charge with blue energy.
Cut to Frostbite:
FROSTBITE: Be mindful. (lifts a finger) You control the power. (curls it into a fist) It does not control you.
Pan down as Frostbite lets out his hand.
Cut to an uneasy Danny looking at Frostbite’s hand with three orange-shirts in the background. One of Danny’s hands is still glowing. He puts both his hands into Frostbite’s hand like a handshake and smiles.
DANNY: Thanks.
Frostbite’s hand suddenly freezes up. Danny looks panicked.
DANNY: Uh… (removes his hands instantly) Sorry.
Frostbite removes his hand from the shot as Danny turns to the orange-shirts in the background and raises a hand to wave.
DANNY: Bye everyone!
Cut to the orange-shirts. They all scream and run away in panic.
Cut to everyone scampering off, revealing Danny and Frostbite on the edge of the cliff.
Cut to Danny and Frostbite. They both look confused. Frostbite turns to Danny.
Close-up on Danny. He smiles.
Close-up on Frostbite. He lowers his eyebrows.
Cut to Danny and Frostbite. Danny bends down, panning up as he shoots off into the sky.
Fade to black. The bolts around the Fenton Portal light up in a clockwise motion, illuminating the door. The doors open, revealing the swirling green behind it as the glow illuminates an aerial shot of the lab floor a little. Growth covers it. Danny drifts out carefully.
Cut to Danny by the Portal. He lifts his hand with a determined gaze as it glows green with energy. Pan out as he lifts his hand.
Cut to an aerial shot of the lab. The spot where Danny floats by the Portal is well-lit but everything else is shrouded in darkness. Light spreads to show growth and vines overgrown on every wall and counter.
Cut to a counter with some test tubes in a rack and a couple flasks. Spiked vines cover the whole place.
Cut to Danny holding his glowing hand with apprehensiveness.
DANNY: (echoed) If the lab looks like this, I can’t imagine (turns his head to the right) the rest of the town.
He turns intangible and lowers his glowing hand. Pan up as he flies through the ceiling, taking the light with him and all the vines are back in darkness once more. As soon as he is gone, two vines from the foreground slither up to reveal sentry flowers on them.
Cut to some more vines in the lab. The two sentry vines enter from either side and look at the camera with vicious smiles. Their eyes flash red.
Cut to outside an overgrown FentonWorks with vines that have purple flowers on them. Danny flies up from the top.
Cut to Danny. He looks with surprise.
Cut to an entire line of houses overgrown in the same way FentonWorks was, with vines and purple flowers. Pan right over the street to show Danny’s face in the foreground. He looks back as he hears a voice.
SAM: (distant) Danny?
Cut to Danny, floating. Pan right as he turns around and flies off in that direction.
Cut to another overgrown street, this one with a tan car. Pan right as Danny flies over and surveys the area, then continuing to fly off.
Cut to Danny, hovering forward as he surveys.
DANNY: This place is deserted. (looks down) No signs of human life anywhere. (looks to the left) I better find Tucker or--
He stops in mid-air, buckling down shivering. He opens his eyes with determination.
DANNY: I control the power.
Close-up on Danny.
DANNY: The power *doesn’t* control me.
Cut to Danny shivering again. He looks down so his hair covers his eyes.
SAM: (distant) Danny?
Danny pops up.
Cut to a giant grass-covered field. It has a grove of pines and many sprawling vines surrounding it. In the center on top of a hill is a giant deciduous tree with purple leaves, attached to a mound of purple eggs. Danny flies in from the front over to the tree.
Cut to a bunch of purple egg-like things with leaves on the bottom of each. Danny floats in and surveys them. Pan up as he turns to the tree and flies toward it, facing away from the trunk.
Cut to Danny, wary. The trunk of the tree behind him has a purple aura. Danny looks down to the right, searching for the source of the voice.
SAM: (offscreen) Welcome back.
Danny turns to the trunk of the tree. Pan up. The trunk separates like curtains to reveal it is hollow and Sam is inside. She is now wearing a black, skin-tight hip-high dress with black leggings, black gauntlets and a long cloak larger than she is. The clip on the cloak is a magenta flower. She has a really high collar around her head, which is framed by four horns, the two outside ones are purple and the two inside ones are black, which cover what hair she has. Vines still support her movement.
SAM: I thought you’d gone for good.
Cut to Danny, shocked and over the purple eggs. He looks serious.
DANNY: Sam, we have to get you out of here!
Cut to Sam.
SAM: No.
She turns to the camera as her support vines writhe.
SAM: I like it here.
Cut to Sam with her support vines coming out of the tree and writhing. Danny is seen from the back as Sam talks to him.
SAM: Undergrowth has made all things new.
Pan down to the purple eggs. Sam drifts down toward them on her support vines, spreading her hands out as Danny looks to her. Four vines grow up to her.
SAM: They need me.
Cut to Sam. The vines wrap around her waist and headdress as she places her hands on them.
SAM: I am their new mother.
Cut to Danny.
DANNY: What? (floats straight) You won’t even babysit your cousins!
Cut a little farther on Danny. Pan right to show Sam with her hands around a vine as if comforting it. Danny clenches a fist.
DANNY: We have to get out of here now!
He looks to the side as Sam releases the vine and it drops away.
DANNY: Where’s everybody else?
Danny looks side to side, then back to Sam as she raises her hand and snaps her fingers.
Cut to Danny and Sam from behind over the purple eggs. They all lift up on their vines to point upright.
Cut to an egg as it slowly opens the petals. Three other eggs surround it. Zoom in. The petals open to reveal a sleeping Maddie bound by vines. Pan right as more eggs open, revealing Jasmine, Lancer, Tucker, Dash and Jack.
Cut to Sam from the side. The shot goes out of focus as Danny flies in front of her, observing.
DANNY: Our friends? (arches an eyebrow) Our families?
Close-up on Danny from the side. He turns to the screen.
DANNY: What are you doing?!
Cut to Sam from the side.
SAM: They will be used as nutrients for the children.
She turns her head to the screen.
SAM: All that matters now are the children.
Cut to Danny, floating and confused. He looks to the side and turns around, zooming out as the screen rumbles. Roaring is head as dust clouds engulf surrounding overgrown buildings. Undergrowth pops up from the bottom, panning up to show his height as he raises his hands and continues to roar while the dust clouds clear. He lowers his hands and looks at Danny.
UNDERGROWTH: And you will make a fine meal for them, too!
He growls and lifts a hand across his head as if ready to swat Danny.
Cut to Danny. Undergrowth’s giant hand that’s about twice Danny’s size swats Danny away.
Cut to Undergrowth after Danny was swatted. Pan right as Danny tumbles and screams away from Undergrowth over the vines covering the city. He lands on his back into a pile of vines with a dust cloud.
Cut to the vines. Danny puts his hand on one of them, covered in hair marks like burrs. He slowly tries to rise out of the vines, placing his other hand on a different vine. Then he looks up behind him and gasps.
Cut to Danny. He flies out of the hole quickly as five vines shoot out to the spot where he fell.
Cut to Undergrowth, outstretching his arm and fingers. He pulls it back, then thrusts out the other one.
Cut to Danny on a purple action background. He performs a back-flip, charging his hands green as two vines grow in, and he chops them clean. Danny charges up one hand and crouches in the air as two more vines grow in, but he spins around and chops them clean. Danny flies a little closer and chops off a fifth vine with one hand. As soon as the vines are clear, he puts two hand into a head-sized ball of green energy, shouting as he throws it offscreen.
Cut to Undergrowth. The energy is like a disc that lops off his left arm in a blast of smoke. He buckles down, clutching the stump.
Close-up on Undergrowth. He gives a smug smile. Zoom out as he releases his arm and the stump grows into a brand-new one that looks mummified in vines as the glove isn’t on yet.
Cut to Danny with both hands charged green flying forward as a giant cactus grows up in front of him and blocks the way.
Cut to Danny looking at a giant cactus with an evil, red-eyed face. He turns to the right as a second one grows next to the first. He turns to the front as a third one begins to sprout.
Freeze frame. Cut to Danny on a red background. Zoom out and rotate to show a cactus slapping him.
Freeze frame. Cut to Danny on a green background. Zoom out and rotate to reveal a cactus uppercutting him.
Freeze frame. Cut to a cactus. Zoom out and rotate to reveal Danny getting beaten up somehow.
Cut to a field of vines on buildings. Danny gets knocked back onto the ground and tumbles over it. He lands and tries to get up, but vines sprout from the ground and mummify him. Pan left to show Sam from the back as Danny looks at her with fear.
SAM: You must take root!
Cut to Danny from the back looking upon Sam and Undergrowth as Sam steps forward.
SAM: Become one with us!
Cut to Danny in a panic.
DANNY: Stop! Please! Sam, you *can’t* let him win!
A vine suddenly binds his mouth as he is lowered.
Cut to a part of Sam’s cloak as more vines cover Danny and lower him into the ground.
DANNY: No! Wait!
He tries to talk but is muffled.
Cut to Sam. She pops in surprise.
UNDERGROWTH: (offscreen) You have done well, daughter.
Zoom out as Sam turns to Undergrowth.
UNDERGROWTH: You shall have the honor of feeding him to the children--
Cut to Undergrowth.
UNDERGROWTH: --when he is ripe.
Cut to Sam. Her eyes narrow. She turns a little, smiling.
SAM: Yes, father.
Pan right to a hole made with vines. Zoom in.
Cut to a darkened view of a wall of vines. Pan down to show Danny’s face in a tiny crack there, straining to get out. He shoves his head side to side and grunts with effort but those vines don’t budge. He stops and gasps as a voice rings in his head. Zoom in slowly.
FROSTBITE: (voiceover) Now then. Concentrate. Let the energy build until it has nowhere to go but out.
Close-up on Danny. His eyes are closed with concentration.
DANNY: Let…
His eyes open, revealing them to be a glowing blue.
DANNY: me…*GOOOO*!
The screen is engulfed in a flash of white.
Cut to the hole. Ice encroaches out of it, zooming out and covering the whole area of vines surrounding the hole. Then, a blast of cold jets out like a geyser.
Cut to Sam and Undergrowth. They turn and gasp in unison.
Cut to Sam and Undergrowth from the back, surveying the icy hole. Pan up to reveal Danny floating above it, glowing with a heavy blue aura.
Cut to Danny, his aura thick and blue and his eyes blue now. Zoom in slowly.
Cut to Danny’s glowing feet. Pan up as he turns around, his blue irises turning into a solid blue.
DANNY: Bundle up--
He flies back into a green action background with his arms crossed and both his hands glow blue with ice energy.
DANNY: --it’s gonna get chilly.
He unleashes a ring of cold as he leans back into the shot. It spreads and fills the screen.
Cut to Sam and Undergrowth. Sam turns to Undergrowth as the ice hits him and spreads, causing him to freeze up completely. He roars and stretches out as the ice breaks off like shards of glass. Then, Sam turns to the right as Undergrowth lunges forward and off, his stem growing longer.
Cut to Sam and Undergrowth far off by the purple tree. Rotate as he stretches his stem longer until he’s gone.
Cut to Danny as Undergrowth grows up to him with a clenched fist. Danny does an evasive maneuver as Undergrowth slams his fist into the ground. Danny flies up and away as Undergrowth slams a fist into a different patch of ground. Pan up as Danny is flying above him. Undergrowth looks but Danny unleashes a beam of ice with his hands, hitting Undergrowth square in the chest and causing him to freeze solid again.
Cut to Danny using his ice beam. He breaks it off, but wisps of cold still emanate from his hands.
Cut to Undergrowth encased in ice. He vibrates and cracks form in it, zooming out as it all breaks away like shards. He hunches his shoulders angrily.
Cut to Danny as Undergrowth enters trying to swat him, but pan right as Danny narrowly flies away. Two thick vines grow up and bind him.
Cut to Danny in the vines as they bind him.
DANNY: Watch out!
He glows blue again as ice forms on top of the vines.
DANNY: The weather man--
Zoom out and rotate as ice spreads down the vines’ stalks.
DANNY: --predicted a cold snap!
Danny stretches his arms and legs and breaks free as the vines break into ice shards.
Cut to Undergrowth, popping up into the shot.
Cut to Undergrowth looking at Danny above a frozen and broken vine stalk. Undergrowth shrinks twice.
Cut to Danny. He smiles triumphantly as he clenches his fists, charging his ice beam.
DANNY: Hey Cabbage-Face!
Cut to Undergrowth. He looks up and gasps, then growls.
Cut to Danny with his two icy hands, spreading them.
DANNY: Haven’t you heard that cold air (turns intangible) is bad for the plants?
He flies downward.
Cut to Undergrowth. Pan down his trunk and to his roots sprawled all around him. Danny flies in and through the ground.
Cut to a shot of underground filled with gigantic green roots. Danny drops down. He uses his ice beam from his hands to freeze one root, then turns around to freeze another with just one hand. He turns to the left to freeze another root with one hand, then pushes up to freeze a root below him with both hands. He turns to the front to freeze another root, and uses his eyes to freeze the last one.
Cut to Undergrowth. He begins to shrink a little more.
UNDERGROWTH: No! (raises his hands) My roots!
Cut to Danny underground with two frozen roots. He uses both his hands to freeze two more.
Cut to Danny with more frozen roots, using his eyes to freeze the last one.
Cut to Danny with a few more frozen roots, using his eyes
once again to freeze a remaining one.
Cut to a sea of vines. It all freezes up instantly. Pan up to show Undergrowth, surveying it all. He turns left.
UNDERGROWTH: You cannot do this (shrinks, looking with shock) to my children!
Close-up on Undergrowth, yelling.
UNDERGROWTH: This is *my* domain!
Cut to Undergrowth.
UNDERGROWTH: My offspring will--
He turns right, lifting his elbows above his head.
UNDERGROWTH: --inherit the Earth!
Undergrowth leans back as Danny emerges from the ground in front of him.
DANNY: Dude,--
Cut to Danny, flying up.
DANNY: --I don’t know if you realize this,--
He relaxes his legs and crosses his arms smugly.
DANNY: --but you’re a terrible father.
Freeze frame. Cut to Danny on green. Zoom out and rotate to show a blue shot with Danny punching Undergrowth.
Freeze frame. Cut to Danny punching Undergrowth in the gut on red. Zoom out and rotate.
Freeze frame. A drop of water is coming out of Undergrowth’s mouth. Zoom out to reveal Danny punching him across the chin on purple.
Cut to the icy sea of vines. Undergrowth lands on it prone and smoking on the back. He is about to get up but Danny comes into the shot from the back.
DANNY: As a duly deputized protector of Amity Park--
Cut to Danny, putting his hands on his hips.
DANNY: --it’s my sincere hope that you’ve enjoyed your butt-kicking experience.
I spy with my little eye a Ghostbusters reference.
He holds up a hand and uses his eyes to create a snowball the size of his head. When he’s done, green energy surges inside it. Zoom out as he holds it behind himself and chucks it.
Cut to Undergrowth looking with terror. Zoom out as the energized snowball flies toward him. It engulfs the screen in a flash of white. As soon as it clears, Undergrowth is seen covering his eyes with one arm and his other one is across his chest underneath a gigantic, smoldering hole. He removes his hands as the hole seals itself up. He gets ready to attack again until a small ball of blue energy builds up in his chest area.
UNDERGROWTH: No!
Close-up on Undergrowth.
UNDERGROWTH: *NOOOOO*!
As he yells, his head is illuminated in white and beams of blue light emanate from him.
Cut to Sam looking to the side. She turns to the screen and gasps in concern. Light flashes on her.
Cut to Undergrowth, flashing.
Cut a little farther, Undergrowth is still flashing with energy.
Cut so Undergrowth is far away. He flashes and then explodes into a few pieces of plant debris, leaving a smoldering ice mist in a sea of frozen vines by buildings.
Cut to an overhead shot of frozen buildings in a street. The ice melts instantly and any vines growing on them wilt black.
Cut to another frozen-over street. The ice melts and all of Undergrowth’s vines wilt away, covering the street in blackened vines and puddles of water.
Cut to the frozen-over FentonWorks. The ice all melts and the vines wilt again.
Cut to two teens controlled by a mind vine. A third one walks up. The vines snap off them and they all look dazed, one of them putting a hand on his head as pink sparkles pop around them.
Cut to Lancer controlled by a mind vine. When it snaps off, he looks dazed and confused as well as more pink sparkles pop around him.
Cut to one mind-vine controlled teen as Dash and Paulina step in from the sides. The vines all snap off and they are back to normal.
Cut to a grassy field filled with displaced and confused people and gigantic, wilted black plant debris. Pan up as everyone expresses confusion. Pan right across the field past a tree to show more of them.
Cut to several dazed teens lying in the grass. Pan right quickly to show Jasmine and Maddie lying there. Maddie puts a hand on her head. Jack comes into the shot, confused and drowsy as pink sparkles pop.
Cut to a field. Sam stands up.
SAM: What happened?
She sticks out her tongue with an expression of disgust. She wipes her mouth with her arm.
SAM: My mouth tastes like I had 9,000 shots of wheatgrass.
She puts down her arm.
SAM: Without the wheat.
Tucker gets up with a hand on his head.
TUCKER: And I had a nightmare that I was trapped (puts down his hand) in a giant salad bar! (shudders) Garbanzo beans.
They both look toward the screen.
Cut to Danny, walking forward. He is glowing with a heavy blue aura.
DANNY: Hey, are you guys okay?
Cut to a surprised Tucker and Sam.
SAM: Danny, (shrugs) what happened to you?
Cut to Danny, still glowing. He looks down and stops his blue aura, closing his eyes.
DANNY: Let’s just say I have a whole new respect for nature.
Danny lifts a glowing blue palm.
Cut to Danny’s hand. An ice crystal forms in a flash of light. The glow stops.
Cut to Danny, holding the floating ice crystal. Sam walks in, impressed.
SAM: *Whoa*! You can do that now?
The crystal stops floating and touches down in Danny’s hand. He offers it to Sam.
Cut to Sam, holding up the sparkling crystal.
SAM: What’s this for?
Cut to Sam holding the crystal. Danny walks in.
DANNY: I’m… glad you’re okay.
They bump heads, but suddenly stop when whirring is heard.
Cut to Danny and Sam in the field as Tucker drives up with a giant vehicle with a tread and a spiked cutter in front. The sign reads “LAWNS MOWED: $5,000”.
DANNY: Tucker, what are you doing?
Cut to Danny. He looks irked.
DANNY: 5,000 dollars to cut someone’s lawn?
Cut to Tucker in the driver’s seat. He holds up a finger.
TUCKER: All I need is one lawn (raises his arms in victory) and we’ll be rolling in green stuff!
Cut to Sam, also irked.
SAM: Why do I get the feeling I’ve just done that?
She looks down.
Cut to Sam’s boots. The screen shakes. Undergrowth pops out of the ground, but he is a tiny sprout.
UNDERGROWTH: (high-pitched) I am regenerating!
Sam steps away.
UNDERGROWTH: I will take over--
He screams in terror.
Cut to Tucker from the front driving his lawn mower and tearing up the grass as he drives toward the screen.
Cut to the yellow sky. Grass clippings fill the air.
Cut to a content Danny and Sam. Tucker drives up. He points over his shoulder with his thumb.
TUCKER: That one’s on the house.
All three laugh.
Cut to the three of them, including Tucker in the lawn mower. Zoom out.
Iris out.
