PART TWO
Fade in to show a frightened Danny in a fetal position in the spectral net. The shadow of Skulker descends upon him.
Cut to Skulker standing in Danny’s room in front of Danny’s bed and next to Danny’s bookcase. Danny, in the net, is comparatively tiny.
SKULKER: The human ghost child in its natural habitat.
Cut to Danny in the net.
DANNY: Who are you?
Cut to Skulker, his hair blue due to all the purple lighting.
SKULKER: I am Skulker.
Pan right to show Skulker holding a half-sphere projector in his hand to show a model of his cage of ghosts he caught. All the ghosts look rather scared.
SKULKER: A collector of things rare and unique.
It’s a wonder why you’re not as interested in the gorilla, then. That’s a pretty rare thing, two of a kind. Just like Danny.
Cut to Danny in the foreground looking up at Skulker.
SKULKER: And you, ghost child, (turns to the side, looking at his projector) are that, and more.
Skulker laughs evilly.
Cut to a model sci-fi spacecraft on the floor. Skulker’s giant boot steps on it, reducing it to shards.
Cut to Danny in the net, miffed.
DANNY: Hey, my rocket! I built that!
You’ve got loads of them hanging from your ceiling. Still, it is a bad thing to lose a part of your collection. Skulker would know about that.
Cut to Skulker.
SKULKER: Pity, though. (looks to his hand, disappointed) I hoped you’d put up (curls his hand to a fist) more of a fight.
Cut to Danny in the net, angry.
DANNY: Oh, don’t worry.
A flash of light comes from the net. Danny turns intangible, panning up as he flies out of it, then resumes color floating in a fighting stance.
DANNY: I will!
Danny jumps forward.
Cut to a purple action background. Danny has a hand out to the camera and one ready in a fist. He swings with fist into the camera, leading to a sound-effects explosion of “FWAM!” on a white screen. The sound-effect rips away back to Danny, after his punch.
Cut to Danny’s wall with some space posters. Skulker lands with his back to it, cracking the plaster.
Close-up on Skulker. He opens his eyes and growls, smiling with the thrill of the fight.
Cut to the door outside Danny’s room. Tucker and Sam both grip the doorknob but don’t open it.
SAM: That’s the--
Tucker and Sam strain to open it by pulling.
SAM: --ghost from the zoo!
Cut to Tucker, straining. He wonders what Sam’s talking about.
TUCKER: Danny?
Cut to Sam. She looks to the door.
SAM: No, the other guy!
Sam braces herself as the room shakes and a grunt is heard.
Cut to Tucker and Sam on Danny’s doorknob, seen from behind. They both step away and the door practically bulges due to an explosion inside.
Cut to a shocked Tucker and Sam while the room is shaking.
JASMINE: (offscreen) Hello?
Tucker and Sam give concerned looks to the source of the voice.
JASMINE: (offscreen) What’s going on up there?
Tucker and Sam turn their heads with their mouths open, worried that their secret may be compromised. Tucker and Sam exchange glances, then run off.
Cut to the Fentons and Connie in the living room. Jasmine is trying to explain more.
JASMINE: You know,--
Zoom in slowly.
JASMINE: --ghost hunting isn’t the only thing--
Cut to Connie, pleased.
JASMINE: (offscreen) --my parents do, Connie. It’s really a side interest.
Cut to Jasmine, Maddie and Jack.
JASMINE: (lifting a palm) What they’re really into is--
Everyone looks in alarm as a crash is heard from upstairs, shaking the whole room. Jasmine puts down her hand as all three Fentons look up to where the crash is coming from.
Cut to a full shot of the room. Jack stands up from his seat.
JACK: Ghost! Ghost!
Cut to a purple action background. Jack pops up.
JACK: GHOOOOST!
Cut to Tucker and Sam warily walking down the stairs. They stop near the end.
Cut to Jack, his teeth clenched. Maddie pops up.
MADDIE: Kids! (curls her hands to fists) Get down! (intensifies) There’s a ghost in the house!
Cut to Jasmine, Jack and Maddie from behind with Connie sitting and watching all this. Tucker and Sam are just getting off the stairs. The kitchen doorway is visible.
TUCKER: Actually, there’s--
Cut to Tucker, explaining as Sam stands next to him with her hands behind her back.
TUCKER: --two--
Sam clubs her elbow in his arms, so he corrects himself as both look nervously giving their alibi.
TUCKER: --much homework to be done for there to be a (uncurls his fists to palms) ghost here.
Tucker and Sam tense up, hoping the Fentons bought it. Pan right as Tucker points and walks off.
TUCKER: I’ll get some snacks.
SAM: (smiling nervously) Yeah.
Cut to Sam.
SAM: Danny’s upstairs.
Sam stops as another crash resounds, causing the room to shake.
Cut to the Fentons with Connie. Jack and Maddie are standing up. Everyone looks up in shock, and Connie puts a hand to her mouth when another crash resounds.
Cut to Sam.
SAM: (coming up with a nervous excuse) Uh…
She puts a finger to her mouth, and puts it out as a palm.
SAM: Lifting…weights?
Cut to an incredulous Jack and Maddie. Maddie’s hands are on her hips.
MADDIE: He doesn’t have (looks forward) exercise equipment (puts up a hand) up there.
Another crash shakes the room. Jack and Maddie brace themselves.
Cut to the empty staircase leading upstairs.
DANNY: (offscreen, shocked as more crashes resound) My computer! (more relieved) Oh, that’s Jazz’s.
Cut to Sam looking up. She gives another shaky alibi.
SAM: That’s why he’s (shrugs) using his computer!
Cut to the kitchen. Some jars on the counter hold snacks. Tucker runs inside, panning right. He stops and braces himself, looking up when another crash shakes the room.
Cut to the ceiling of the kitchen. Danny screams as he cracks open a huge hole in it, falling on his back.
Cut to Tucker by the table. He looks down as Danny crashes into it, breaking it to pieces as he lands on his back on the floor.
Poor table, it will end up breaking a second time by Jack in SI.
Tucker and Danny look up as Skulker drops in, hunching over and commanding Danny.
SKULKER: Come,--
Zoom out to show more of the room, including the hole in the ceiling.
SKULKER: --ghost boy.
Cut to Danny’s scared face. Zoom in as Danny blinks in surprise.
SKULKER: (offscreen) Time to see your new home.
Cut to Skulker standing as Tucker and Danny look at him in a panic. Skulker bends down and grabs Danny by his arms and torso, Danny screaming in response. Skulker begins to glow with a heavy white aura as he turns both of them intangible, and then dives through the floor. Tucker watches all of this as it unfolds in front of him.
Cut to the ceiling of the basement lab. Pan down as an invisible Danny and Skulker phase through the ceiling, Danny is screaming.
Cut to Skulker flying with Danny in his grip toward the floor, zooming is as the floor grows closer. They both resume color. Skulker lands on his feet and Danny is pressed to the floor on his back. The impact shakes the room.
Cut to Tucker, nervously looking behind him. Pan left to the doorway. Connie peeks in followed by Jack. Sam runs in and Jasmine and Maddie peek behind Jack. All look horrified.
Cut to Tucker, looking over his shoulder at all the new witnesses. He then looks uneasily to the floor.
Cut to the broken table on the floor in many pieces.
Cut to Tucker, looking at the broken table.
TUCKER: Uh…
He turns and puts out his hands to mock a martial arts stance.
TUCKER: Hi-*yah*!
Cut to Connie by Jack.
CONNIE: What’s going on?
Cut to Sam and Tucker as another crash shakes the room. Sam and Tucker leans to each other.
TUCKER: (acting) Sounds like--
Tucker and Sam both smile at the excuse.
TUCKER: --rats in the lab!
Cut to Jack He lifts a fist.
JACK: Ghost rats. (looks to the side and drops his hand) I knew it.
Cut to Connie and the Fentons in the doorway. They turn with some concern and apprehension as Sam and Tucker run out.
SAM: Don’t worry! We’ll get rid of ‘em.
Cut to Connie by Jack.
CONNIE: I’d like to learn a (puts a finger to her lip) little more about this “Danny”.
Cut to the kitchen doorway from the living room. Jack and Connie are at the front with Maddie and Jasmine behind them. Connie walks away with a piece of paper in her hand, looking upstairs. Jack and Maddie turn to Jasmine as she points a finger to warn Connie.
JASMINE: Uh, that’s probably not--
Cut to Maddie and Jasmine.
JASMINE: (putting out her hands) --such a great idea!
Jasmine curls her hands with concern about her interview while Maddie looks up, wondering.
MADDIE: I’d like to see what he’s doing up there (walks off) anyway.
Jasmine lifts a hand, calling out.
JASMINE: *Wait*!
Close-up on Danny as he is brought up into the shot, his neck is in Skulker’s tight grip. Danny is mad, his hands are trying to pry Skulker’s glove off.
DANNY: (perspiring and looking to the side, worried) What are you doing?
Cut to Skulker holding Danny by the neck up in the air by a deactivated, black and empty Fenton Portal.
Add this to the times Danny was held by the neck.
Right-o!
SKULKER: Bringing you back to my world.
Cut to Skulker, smiling proudly.
SKULKER: Where I can put you on display.
Pan right as Skulker holds up his projection of his cage full of frightened ghosts wailing.
Cut to Danny, his hands curled on Skulker’s glove holding his neck.
DANNY: What?!
Cut to Skulker with his projection in his hand. The projection vanishes like a spectral illusion. Pan left as he uses that hand to press a red button on a console on his right hand. Something is heard powering up.
Cut to the dark Fenton Portal. It glows to life.
Huh. That’s strange. Skulker can activate a deactivated ghost portal from his suit? Something that just goes past you when watching casually.
Cut to Skulker holding Danny by the neck in front of the glowing Fenton Portal.
SKULKER: Ha! (holds Danny up higher) At last!
Cut to Danny, being held up by Skulker.
SKULKER: Time (starts walking forward) to put you in your cage.
Cut to Danny in Skulker’s grip. He starts yelling a protest as lous as he can.
DANNY: NOOOOO!!
Cut to the lower half of the Fenton Portal. Skulker takes one step toward it and only Danny’s legs are seen, but he stops when Sam slides in front of him, blocking the portal.
SAM: “No” is right, Danny!
Zoom out as Sam clenches her fists, looking up to Danny and Skulker.
SAM: Cages are wrong!
Cut to Sam, sticking her head out in front of the portal.
SAM: How do you think Sampson feels being in a cage?
Not sure. This depends whether or not she may have been bred in captivity or saved from certain doom from poachers in her habitat, or if she was just bought for the zoo to be put on display. You never really know if an animal might be happy in captivity assuming the owners that hold it takes good care of it. It’s rather hard to ask them unless you can read their body language or speak their tongue.
Cut to Skulker, somewhat confused by Sam’s interruption.
SKULKER: But--
Cut to Sam, talking again.
SAM: He’s a beautiful animal, and deserves to roam free!
Are humans beautiful animals, too? Oh well. Just as another input, what if we released it into the wild and it fell prey to something? You don’t want to be the kid that released his pet fish into the ocean just to find out that a couple seconds later a predator swam up to eat it. I still get negative feelings from one woman that took a lobster that was about to be cooked and dumped it into a freshwater lake until her spouse told her she forgot to remove the rubber bands binding the claws, so the lobster couldn’t scramble out of a lake that would potentially desalinate it, which means she indirectly killed it. Meep!
Cut to Skulker, still not knowing how to respond to this.
SKULKER: I--
Cut to Sam, narrowing her eyes and pointing her finger.
SAM: Should be ashamed.
Cut to Skulker, exasperated by this. Pan left to Danny, with blue eyes, taking advantage of the distraction and growling.
I mentioned the color error in the transcript. Were you reading or skipping to the orange text I scribble in it?
Cut to Sam looking at Danny and Skulker. Danny kicks Skulker with enough force to send him flying away and Danny doing a few flips in the air before stabilizing.
Cut to Tucker. He screams and puts his arms out as he starts to run away. When he’s gone, Skulker lands on his back on the floor.
Cut to Skulker, getting up as he puts a hand on his electric-sparking head. He turns to look over his shoulder.
Cut to Tucker, having landed flat on his face. Next to him are his glasses and his PDA while yellow stars pop around his head. Tucker gets up on his hands.
Cut to the PDA and glasses. Skulker reaches in to pick up the PDA.
Cut to Skulker, standing up. He holds the PDA to his face to look at it.
Close-up on Skulker looking at the PDA in amazement.
SKULKER: That technology--
Cut to the PDA in Skulker’s hand.
SKULKER: --so sleek,--
The PDA sparkles, Skulker puts his other hand on it.
SKULKER: --so…advanced.
Cut to Skulker with his hand on the PDA. He looks to the device on his right hand.
Cut to the device on his hand. It’s broken. The glass is shattered, wires are exposed, a screw is loose and it’s held together by masking tape. Zoom in on it.
Wasn’t that just the thing he used to activate the Fenton Portal? Because it’s not the part Sampson bit during the fight at the zoo, which was on his other hand.
Close-up on Skulker, disappointed. He looks with an idea to the side.
Cut to the PDA in his hand. Zoom in as it sparkles.
I want to include Danny’s schedule recorded in it. Here goes:
12:00 Eat Lunch
1:00 Library
1:30 Meet Sam
2:00 Gym Class
3:10 Go Home
So it’s assumed that Danny has his lunch late in the day (we’re thinking C lunch in high school terms), goes to study hall, meets with Sam between classes, has Gym last and somehow goes home twenty minutes before school even ends (3:30, according to Tucker in L’L). Sounds like they were using round numbers instead of actually looking at a real school schedule.
SKULKER: Hmm…
Cut to Skulker holding the PDA.
SKULKER: I wonder…
Pan down as Skulker holds his right hand out. He puts his left hand on it with the PDA in his grip, ripping out what used to be there and leaves many red wires loose and sparking.
Cut to Tucker on the floor, putting on his glasses and watching as the old device falls in front of him with several loose screws.
Cut to the exposed area, heavy with electrical activity. Skulker slams in the PDA to the area, powering up.
Cut to Skulker’s hand on his other hand. He removes it, and the PDA sparks up. The loose wires, now green, start to snake up with a life of their own.
Cut to Skulker on the side as Tucker gets up to protest.
TUCKER: Hey! I’ve got three more payments on that!
Cut to Skulker, pleased. He looks to the side.
Cut to Tucker looking angrily at Skulker. Skulker just bats him off, panning up as he looks at his left arm. Tucker screams in surprised pain.
Cut to Skulker. He smiles.
SKULKER: Marvelous.
Pan down to the PDA embedded in his arm. Green wires extend out as the glove glows blue and the six wires attach to the PDA, some of them even on the screen.
Cut to Danny and Sam in complete shock. Danny looks determined and runs off.
Cut to the ceiling. Skulker stands up, flexing his arms and glowing all over with new energy.
Cut to Danny flying with his fist forward on a blue action background.
Cut to Skulker holding up his giant technological arm. He bends it straight to arm his fist as a giant blaster comes out of his wrist. It lets out a beam of green energy from the needle in the barrel.
Cut to Danny flying on the blue action background. He stops suddenly in shock as the background resumes to the lab and the ray hits him on the chest, knocking him away.
There’s a weird color error, when Danny is blasted away his gray gloves become flesh-colored. Meep!
Cut to Skulker. He holds back his arm with the smoldering blaster, looking at it proudly.
Cut to Sam, shocked. She braces herself as Danny hits the wall on his back, his wrists and ankles bound together by green energy binds. Danny looks scared. Sam looks down as Danny slips off the wall.
Cut to Danny, landing on his butt on the floor, his wrists and ankles bound. He looks up, afraid.
Cut to Sam looking at Danny sitting by the wall. She turns forward.
SAM: (annoyed) Way to go, Tucker. (puts out a palm and a hand on her hip) You just made the bad guy (puts out both arms to show her point) *more* bad!
Cut to Tucker on his knees.
TUCKER: How was I supposed to know my PDA was (shrugs) ghost compatible?
Cut to Skulker looking down at Danny, sitting down and bound up.
SKULKER: Say goodbye to this world, (puts out his fist) child!
Close-up on Danny. He opens his mouth in frightened shock, zooming in.
Cut to Skulker pointing his fist at Danny. Skulker looks with surprise as the PDA starts beeping the William Tell Overture.
Cut to Skulker. He looks at the PDA.
SKULKER: What? (reading) “Fly to library”?
Cut to the PDA as the text Skulker just said types onscreen. It says “FLY TO LIBRARY GET BOOK ON THE EATING HABITS OF THE PURPLE BACK GORILLA…” Skulker reads the rest aloud.
SKULKER: “Get a book on the eating habits of Purple Back gorilla”…
Cut to Skulker. A jetpack instantly sets up on his back like wings, and Skulker looks at both of them in shock as they power up. They shake and blast smoke out as they fly him away.
SKULKER: No! Stop!
Cut to the doorway of the lab. Pan up as Skulker is flown away backwards by his jetpack.
SKULKER: The hunt is not over!
Cut to Skulker flying backwards on a blue action background. He clenches his fists and looks up over his shoulder, turning intangible.
Cut to the ceiling of the lab. Skulker phases through it.
Cut to Maddie, Connie, Jack and Jasmine ascending the stairs as Skulker, intangibly and silently, blasts on his jetpack behind them.
Cut to Jack from behind. He turns around and shifts his eyes, thinking he might’ve noticed a ghost. He pouts his lip and goes onward.
Cut to the outside of FentonWorks. Pan up as Skulker, in full color, flies backwards out from the giant thing on top of the house and away into the sky.
Cut to Danny with his wrists bound, looking up with his mouth wide in surprise. He looks to the green energy binds on his wrists. Pan down as they disappear into green sparkles, Danny holding out his now-free hands. Pan down to his boots. The ankle binders disappear into green sparkles as well as if they were never there.
Cut to Danny, sitting by the wall and looking at his hands. Sam runs up to him.
SAM: What happened?
Sam takes Danny’s arm and helps him up. Danny rubs the back of his head.
DANNY: Who cares? At least I got a minute to relax and figure this out.
Danny and Sam look up suddenly as they hear a voice.
MADDIE: (offscreen) Danny--
Cut to Danny.
MADDIE: (offscreen) --where are you? Somebody here wants to meet you.
Danny looks tense.
DANNY: Dyuh!
Close-up on Danny.
DANNY: My room!
Cut to Sam with a finger to her mouth as Danny bends down and becomes intangible, flying upward.
Cut to Danny’s room. His wooden walls are broken and expose bricks. His bookcase is in tipped planks and his TV is smashed on the floor. A video game controller is also on the floor with an overturned laundry basket. The door is the only thing untouched. Danny flies up from the floor and a flash of light changes him back to Danny Fenton in mid-air. He lands on the ground.
Cut to Danny’s door, Maddie opens it, leaning in and smiling.
MADDIE: Danny,--
She opens it and gestures to Connie, walking in holding her paper.
MADDIE: --this is Connie,--
Zoom out as Maddie turns to the room.
MADDIE: --from Genius Magazine!
Danny runs up to put his hands on the door, angry that his mom barged in on him. Maddie clasps her hands back, trying to avoid it.
DANNY: Don’t you people ever knock?
He quickly slams the door in their face to cover up what happened. Then he turns his back to the door, pressing his palms to it.
Close-up on Danny, concerned.
DANNY: Jazz is (looks to his door, regrettably) going to kill me for that.
Cut to Maddie outside Danny’s door with a hand to her mouth. Connie is next to her. Jasmine is really mad. Jack is behind them.
JASMINE: I’m gonna--
Cut to Jasmine.
JASMINE: --kill him for that.
Pan left to Connie. She holds her red pen to her face.
CONNIE: Brooding? Messy? Reclusive? (shows out her pen, smiling) Now *those* are the signs of a true genius! (scoffs, putting down her hand) If only he were a woman!
Fade to Casper High. The bell rings. General school chatter is heard. Zoom in.
Fade to the stoop next to the open front doors. Tucker, Danny and Sam walk up with a boy that has the number 10 on his shirt. Tucker is holding his PDA, Danny turns to look behind him. Sam brings up the rear.
Close-up on Danny.
DANNY: (whispering, looking around nervously) Any sign of him?
Cut to Tucker. He checks his PDA.
TUCKER: Nope. (squints) He hasn’t bothered you for… (looks behind him) thirty-eight minutes.
He looks up, putting a finger on his chin.
TUCKER: Maybe he’s (turns to talk over his shoulder) hunting somebody else now.
Cut to Danny and Tucker in the foreground. Sam looks at the PDA in Tucker’s hand.
SAM: How many of those things (lifts a hand) do you have?
Cut to Tucker, looking down with Danny standing just under him. Danny holds his backpack strap as Tucker answers.
TUCKER: Just two.
Danny looks to Tucker.
TUCKER: Good thing I beamed all your info in here (looks to his PDA) and backed it up. (looks back to Danny, proud) Global thinking, Danny. (pokes his head, showing he thinks well) The sign of a quality time manager.
Cut to Tucker’s PDA. It flashes with the message “GO TO CLASS!”
Cut to Tucker and Danny looking into the PDA. Tucker puts a hand on Danny’s shoulder and pushes him forward to go.
TUCKER: Come on.
Sam walks up, smiling.
TUCKER: You’re late!
The bell rings.
Cut to Tucker and Sam on the stoop by the door. They walk inside together. When they are gone, Skulker intangibly phases up from the stairs and resumes color floating above them.
SKULKER: Soon, ghost boy.
Close-up on Skulker. He looks determined.
SKULKER: Soon.
Fade to a clock. It reads 8:54. The bell rings.
Cut to Lancer’s classroom. Lancer is standing behind his desk with a piece of paper and a piece of chalk in hand. Danny, Sam and Tucker are the last to leave.
Just a random note, while the 8:54 clock is probably correct, the one in Lancer’s room isn’t. That one reads 10:10. As always, many of the clocks in Casper High are broken.
Cut to a row of lockers. Danny walks up to his with his brown book in hand, turning the lock.
Cut to a staircase by an open door to a classroom. Three students clear the stairway, hall and door, leaving the place empty.
Cut to Danny at his locker, opening it and looking inside without thought. Suddenly, the room turns purple as green chains shoot out from Danny’s locker, causing him to scream as he is knocked away.
Cut to a row of lockers in the back. Danny screams as his arms and torso are bound by the coiled chains. He is screaming in shock and alarm, panning right where the chains slam him against the lockers. He grunts in pain and touches his feet to the floor, looking down at himself in shock as the chains finish coiling around him and are no longer attached to his locker.
Cut to Tucker and Sam, popping up with concern.
TUCKER AND SAM: Danny!
Cut to Danny with the chains binding him. A stream of blue mist wafts down onscreen and becomes a growing blue flame which materializes into Skulker from behind hunching over as if to grab Danny.
Cut to Skulker’s lower half. Pan up to his top half, smiling.
Cut to Skulker.
SKULKER: I have you now!
Zoom out as he points a fist with a giant blaster on the wrist.
SKULKER: Child!
Cut to Danny. His eyes are wide and his mouth is open with fear.
Cut to Skulker with his gun charging up. The William Tell Overture plays. This takes Skulker by surprise. He removes his gun hand and looks to the one with the PDA.
SKULKER: What?
Cut to the PDA. Text forms onscreen in short bursts as Skulker reads them. It reads “GO TO NEWSTAND AND PURCHASE MAGAZINE WITH ARTICLE ABOUT PURPLE BACK GORILLAS”
SKULKER: (reading aloud) “Go to the newsstand, and purchase magazine with article about--
Cut to Skulker, surprised.
SKULKER: --purple back gorillas”?
Cut to Skulker looking at the PDA on his arm as Tucker and Sam watch in fear on the side. Suddenly, the jetpack wings form up and power up on Skulker’s back. He screams as he blasts off away.
Cut to outside Casper High by an orange tree. Pan up as Skulker flies away from the building and into the sky.
Cut to Danny bound by green chains, looking up at the sudden twist of fortune. He looks down at his chains. Zoom out. The lighting returns to normal as Danny frees his arms and the chains just dissolve away into the air. Danny looks to the side.
Cut to Tucker and Sam. Tucker takes out his PDA, contemplating it.
TUCKER: Hmm, I have the same thing on mine.
Zoom out to reveal Danny in the foreground looking to Tucker and rubbing his arm with his other hand.
DANNY: I think we’ll blow (looks up cautiously) that one off.
Fade to the bleachers. The signs above show a board shaped like a raven reading “Go Ravens” and another sign reading “VISITORS”. Tucker is calmly eating yogurt with a spoon. Sam is looking up to Danny, concerned. Danny has his elbows on his knees and his face in his palms, depressed. A milk carton is sitting next to Tucker. Zoom in.
SAM: Danny,--
Cut to the trio.
SAM: --eat something.
Danny sighs. He puts out a hand to explain.
DANNY: I can’t eat now!
Close-up on Danny. He looks up to the side.
DANNY: He could be anywhere!
Cut to Tucker, happily chewing as Danny sits behind him on a higher bleacher. He swallows. Zoom out to show Danny and Sam exchanging glances. They look to Tucker when he realizes something.
TUCKER: Hey, (puts out a palm, talking to Danny) this food was scheduled (picks it up to open it) to be eaten.
Cut to the milk carton. Tucker pulls open the corner. As soon as he does this, we zoom out to reveal an alarmed Tucker as the lighting turns all purple and a blue ball of energy flies up from the milk.
Cut to the trio, all looking at the energy ball. Tucker and Sam look up with shocked concern as the energy ball wraps its tentacles on Danny’s face.
Cut to Danny on a purple action background, overreacting as tentacles of energy are clinging on his face.
Cut to Tucker and Sam. They stand up in concern; Tucker is squeezing the milk in his hand.
TUCKER AND SAM: Danny!
Cut to the bleachers. Skulker’s boots land on the bench. Pan up to show a pleased Skulker.
SKULKER: Now, boy.
Cut to Danny holding the tentacles on his head bind like a boa around his neck. Tucker and Sam look in the same direction as Danny, all in fear. Skulker lifts his fist in the foreground.
SKULKER: Once more--
Cut to Skulker.
SKULKER: --I, (he flexes an arm) Skulker shall--
He is interrupted as the PDA on his arm rings the William Tell Overture. He looks at it.
Cut to the PDA. The text “TAKE PHOTOS OF GORILLA” come onscreen.
SKULKER: (reading aloud) “Take photos of gorilla”?
Cut to Skulker looking at the PDA in his arm. He looks over his shoulder as his jetpack wings form up again. He blasts off without another word.
Cut to more jet smoke cloud. It clears, revealing Danny holding his neck-binder looking to the sky with Tucker and Sam behind him. When the lighting goes back to normal daylight, the neck binder vanishes with it. Danny removes his hands and looks at them, now free.
Cut to Tucker and Sam, looking up.
SAM: Well, least he’s regular.
Cut to Danny, looking at his hand. He removes it and looks over his shoulder, realizing something.
DANNY: Yeah, almost like a--
He turns forward and points his finger to make a point.
DANNY: --schedule!
Close up on Danny.
DANNY: What’s the next thing you have scheduled for me, Tucker?
Cut to Tucker. He checks his PDA.
TUCKER: Gym. (looks up) Why?
Close-up on Danny. He looks to the side smugly.
Fade to Dash looking at his reflection in a mirror.
DASH: You are one--
Zoom out to reveal Dash in gym attire with a towel hanging off his shoulders.
DASH: --smooth- (lifts his arms to showcase the muscles) looking--
He turns his back to the mirror and looks over his shoulder to it.
DASH: --dude.
Here’s another clock sighting. In the mirror, that clock technically reads 11:03. If it weren’t a reflection which it should be, it would say 12:56. Don’t worry, the clocks in Dennis’s school’s gym are also broken and she actually has to leave down the hall to the weight room for accurate time.
Cut to a row of lockers. Danny, in gym attire and with a towel around his shoulders, happily walks up to his locker.
Cut to Danny’s about to slide his locker handle. But he doesn’t.
Cut to Danny with his hand on the handle. Tucker is next to him at his locker, wearing the appropriate attire with a towel draped on his shoulders, without his red beret. Danny turns away from his locker. He looks smugly as Tucker turns to him.
DANNY: (acting) Hey, Dash?
Cut to Dash vainly looking at himself in the mirror holding up his arms. He turns to the left at the source of who called his name.
Cut to Danny smiling. Tucker is standing behind him, his hand on his locker.
DANNY: (acting, turning to the right and putting a hand on his towel) I’m too weak and defenseless to open (gestures to his locker) my locker. (leans down and smiles) Can you open it for me?
Danny stands up straight, smiling gleefully as Dash reaches in and grabs his shoulder, zooming out as he shoves him aside. Danny leans back, holding both ends of his towel, happy.
DASH: Out of the way, loser.
Cut to the row of lockers. Dash puts his hand on the lock to turn it.
Cut to Danny and Tucker. They exchange glances.
Cut to Dash hunched up to open Danny’s locker as Danny and Tucker watch from the side. As soon as Dash opens it up, Danny and Tucker turn to watch as the lighting becomes green and Dash falls prey to Skulker’s trap, screaming as a beam of blue light comes from the locker and knocks him away, panning right.
That’s the second locker attack today! Not only is Skulker on schedule, he’s getting plain old predictable.
Cut to the row of lockers in the back. The blue goo is forming around Dash and presses him to the wall in a sticky bubble of blue goo. His eyes are covered.
Cut to Dash in the bubble, stuck. Skulker swoops in to check on what his trap caught.
Cut to Skulker, observing the bubble.
SKULKER: Hmm. (looks to the PDA on his arm) My sensors indicate you’re an average human.
Close-up on Skulker.
SKULKER: Destined for an average life after high school.
Around this time, Skulker’s pretty much into hunting for the collection of rare trophies. But by the time M-M rolls around and he’s into hunting for the thrill of it, I remember he tells Dash that if he can’t get Danny Phantom, he’d settle for Dash as a consolation prize. Spooky, isn’t that?
Cut to Dash in the bubble. His screams are muffled and he lifts his arms, the bubble jiggling like gelatin.
Close-up on Skulker, miffed. He looks down.
Cut to an edge of a row of lockers by a wastebasket. Tucker and Danny peek their heads from behind it.
Cut to Skulker, smiling. Zoom out as he is revealed to be floating. He holds up a hand and charges a blue ball of energy ready to toss.
SKULKER: I shall--!
Once again, he is interrupted by the PDA beeping out the William Tell Overture.
Cut to the PDA. It reads “4:00 VISIT GORILLA DISPLAY AT THE MUSEUM OF NATURAL HISTORY.”
SKULKER: (reading) “Visit the gorilla display at the museum of natural history”?
Cut to Skulker, floating. He hunches over with defeat as his jetpack powers up again and blasts him away without a word. The lighting resumes to normal as two clouds of smoke trail after him.
This makes me wonder how Skulker feels about doing Danny’s research instead of him, and how people react to him doing it. “Wow, you must be really interested in the purple back gorilla” they’d say. And some may be opposed to the fact that he’s a hunter, but he’d say “I’m not hunting the gorilla, I’m hunting someone else”. This weird situation is best left to the hypotheticallity of offscreen.
Cut to Tucker and Danny peeking behind the lockers when the smoke clears. Danny looks up, pleased.
TUCKER: Why’s he going there?
Danny looks down to him.
DANNY: When Skulker put your PDA into his technology--
Close-up on Danny.
DANNY: --he became bound to my schedule. (looks mischievous) He has to go where *I* was going to (looks up, happy) go next.
Zoom out as Danny looks down into the PDA he is holding.
DANNY: Which means…
Cut to the PDA in Danny’s hand. It flashes “VISIT GORILLA HABITAT”.
Cut to Danny, looking down.
DANNY: It’s time for the hunter to become the hunted. Come on.
Cut to Danny with a plan. Tucker is standing next to him, holding his PDA.
DANNY: We’re gonna go do something a little (looks to Tucker) *ahead* of schedule.
They run off.
Fade to Sampson scratching his butt in a red tint. Zoom out to reveal that he is being watched in a red scope.
Close-up on Skulker, looking through his pair of red binoculars. He removes them.
SKULKER: (whispering menacingly) Where is he?
Cut to Skulker, crouching in a tree.
SKULKER: According to (looks to the PDA on his arm) this infernal device--
Cut to the PDA. It plays Pong with itself.
Cut to Skulker, angry about it.
SKULKER: --which I can *not* reprogram! (removes his arm) The ghost boy was supposed to be here an hour ago.
Cut to Skulker in the tree. Pan down as he jumps and safely floats back down.
Cut to Sampson from behind as Skulker lands next to him, looking to the gorilla.
SKULKER: You were supposed to be the bait!
Close-up on Skulker.
SKULKER: You stupid animal!
Cut to Sampson from behind. He suddenly turns around to reveal that it was a fake Sampson pelt with Tucker and Sam hiding underneath it.
SAM: (defensive) Sampson’s not stupid!
Tucker smiles.
TUCKER: He’s also not here.
Cut to Tucker, letting Sam hold up the costume as he takes out his PDA and stylus.
TUCKER: Can I take a message?
Cut to Skulker, surprised by the outcome.
SKULKER: You two! (turns to the right, stretching his technological neck) You’ll pay for this!
Cut to the trunk of the tree. Zoom out as Skulker brings out a box with six barrels on both shoulder and instantly sets up a heavy-duty chain gun on the other arm, along with another device setting up on the side of his belt.
Cut to Sam and Tucker in the costume. Sam tosses it back and puts down her arms as Tucker looks particularly roguish.
TUCKER: Oh, I don’t think so…
Tucker starts to write in his PDA.
Cut to the PDA. He taps the top button on his PDA screen so it beeps and reads “SEND”.
Cut to Skulker with all his weapons on him. His linked PDA beeps the William Tell Overture, so he has to stop and check it.
Cut to the PDA. It reads “10:10, TIME FOR PUSH-UPS?”
SKULKER: (reading aloud) “Time for push-ups”?
Cut to Skulker. He turns to the camera, confused.
SKULKER: What?
The weapons on his shoulders retract back into him. He struggles as he begins to glow with a heavy white aura, yelling out as it makes him dive to the side. He clenches his fists and tries to keep control.
Cut to Skulker by the tree, struggling to control himself but he eventually succumbs. The white aura fades away as he finds himself doing push-ups and is unable to stop them.
SKULKER: Stop! No! I can’t! Stop!
Cut to Danny Phantom, flying up into the shot and looking down, happy to be of service.
DANNY: I can help with that!
He flies down.
Cut to Danny in the cage. It transitions to a purple action background as Danny flings himself forward.
Cut to Skulker doing push-ups uncontrollably. Zoom in and rotate. A sound effects explosion reads “WHAM!” in orange letters.
Cut to Danny head-butting Skulker in the chest on a purple and orange action background. It resumes to normal as Danny shoves further, Skulker knocked away.
Cut to one of the walls of the cage. Skulker slams his back into the wall and displaces wall fragments despite the fact that he’s in a cage. He slides to sit on the ground.
Cut to Skulker, in the corner and hit. His eyes and mouth widen with more shock and horror. Zoom in on his frightened face.
Cut to Danny on a purple action background, with a fist ready to punch. He flies a little closer to the camera. First he swoops his fist down to the right displacing some metal and a bolt. Then he punches the camera with his other fist. He then holds back his first fist to punch across, taking off more parts. He then moves that fist up to punch higher and more parts are heard breaking off. Danny turns to the left landing a blow across the screen.
Cut to Skulker, reeling. He turns to the left menacingly as Danny zooms past him.
Close-up on Skulker. Zoom out. He charges a three-barreled blaster on his shoulder.
Cut to Danny, panning left as he tumbles in the air, stopping just before the cage bars and looking in fear as he takes the defensive.
Cut to Danny’s face in a red scope of the barrel of the gun. A yellow circle locks on him as the target.
Cut to Tucker, holding his PDA and stylus.
TUCKER: Ah, ah, ah!
He taps his PDA with the stylus.
TUCKER: 10:11.
Cut to the PDA. It reads “POLISH ARMOR” in two different buttons. Tucker presses the send button.
TUCKER: Polish armor.
Cut to Skulker, looking to the side with the blaster protruding from his shoulder. He looks with surprise as the blaster suddenly becomes a rotating hot wax buffer. It begins to polish his face. Skulker steps back, not knowing what to do.
Cut to Tucker grinning ear to ear as Sam watches it unfold. Sam turns to him to scold.
SAM: Stop fooling around, Tucker!
Cut to Danny, crouched on the ground as he watches Skulker deal with two hot wax buffers polishing him on the face and chest. He turns to the camera to give a command.
DANNY: Power him down already!
Close-up on Danny, stress wrinkles are under his eyes.
DANNY: Now!
Cut to Tucker holding his PDA.
TUCKER: (calm) Relax. (shakes his PDA) Everything’s totally under--
Suddenly, a technological arrow shoots from the left and snags the PDA from Tucker’s hand. Tucker looks to his empty hand in surprise.
Cut to the tree. The PDA is stuck to it by the arrow, its screen cracked.
Cut to Tucker.
TUCKER: --control? (looks defeated) Aw, man! I had *four* more payments (looks to the side, sad) on this one!
Cut to Skulker, a wax buffer protruding from his back and a crossbow on his other hand. He retracts it to himself, grinning.
Cut to Danny, on his hand. Skulker is out of focus.
DANNY: Tucker?
He points a finger as Skulker turns to look at him.
DANNY: You’re fired.
Danny turns to Skulker with a fist clenched and goes out of focus when Skulker does.
SKULKER: Very well. I’ve planned on simply capturing you and letting you live the rest of your life in a cage.
Cut to Skulker.
SKULKER: But now, I will rest your pelt,--
Zoom in on Skulker, dead serious.
SKULKER: --at the foot of my bed!
Cut to Sam, freaked out.
SAM: (leaning back) Okay, that’s just gross.
Dennis is now getting visions back to MI when Vlad turned a bunch of animal pelts into wall and floor art. That’s not gross unless you have to perform taxidermy on it by yourself, but it will freak out any company that visits you.
Cut to Skulker.
SKULKER: Well, ghost boy,--
Zoom in slowly.
SKULKER: --any last words?
Cut to Danny on his hands on the floor, looking up at Skulker, whose glove is in the foreground.
DANNY: (smug) Just this.
Cut to Danny, standing up. He pats his head. Then he leans forward, putting his palms next to his eyes and flipping them in front of and away from his eyes a couple times. He then grins as he puffs out his chest and pounds on it with his fists.
Cut to Skulker, confused.
SKULKER: What are you doing?
Cut to Danny’s butt, his hand scratching it. Zoom out to show Danny looking over his shoulder.
DANNY: Calling a friend.
Cut to a purple action background as Sampson falls down in an offensive position.
Cut to Skulker from behind and overhead. Zoom in as he looks over his shoulder and up in shock. Another sound-effects explosion resounds reading “WHAM!”
Cut to Tucker and Sam, smiling. They look forward.
SAM: You learned his language?
Cut to Danny, looking over his shoulder.
DANNY: Well, sure. All he does--
Pan right to his butt as he scratches it.
DANNY: --is this.
This is more about chimpanzees that gorillas, but it turns out that chimps are 98 percent identical to humans genetically. And there has been a story about someone that raised a chimp baby as a human daughter after her mother was killed by poachers. Turns out that she could understand everything perfectly but had to use sign language because she was mute. It’s rather sad to think these are the same species being used as test animals, but the testing chimps usually end up going insane.
Freeze frame. Cut to Sampson on a pink background attacking. Zoom out to show that he is using both hands to pound Skulker’s back, as he is prone on his stomach.
Freeze frame. Cut to the trio on a blue background, all cheering and saying “Yay!”
Freeze frame. Cut to Sampson punching Skulker in the gut. Zoom out to show a hot pink background filled with metal flotsam and jetsam.
Freeze frame. On a purple background, Danny is in the air covering his eyes, Sam is crouching down covering hers, and Tucker is leaning back covering his eyes with a fist.
Freeze frame. Skulker’s chin is being punched. Zoom out to show Sampson giving Skulker a serious cheap shot on a purple background.
Freeze frame. All three kids have their arms in the air to cheer on pink.
Cut to a purple action background, panning right as Skulker, with an exposed belly due to his black suit being ripped off there, has his arm gripped tightly by the wrist off his suit and in Sampson’s hand. Parts fly out.
Freeze Frame. Close-up on Sam covering her ears. Zoom out to show Danny covering his eyes and Tucker covering his mouth, on a blue background.
Now that’s a gag, except I’m sure that one’s about monkeys, not gorillas.
Cut to Sampson roaring as he holds Skulker up in both arms, Skulker’s arm has been ripped off him and the socket is sparking. Pan down to the left as Sampson throws him to the ground, where he lands on his belly.
Cut to the feet of the trio. Skulker’s severed arm with exposed wires lands next to them. Pan up to the trio, happy as they look at it. Danny and Sam look to Tucker as he lifts his hand out with a question.
TUCKER: But I still don’t understand--
Close-up on Tucker.
TUCKER: --why a ghost needed a high-tech (looks to the left) battlesuit.
Cut to the trio, confused. Sampson is heard roaring. All three look in shock, Danny floating up. They all duck with Danny covering his head as some metal parts including Skulker’s necklace fly over them. Danny floats up and Tucker and Sam lean to the side as more detached parts sail through Danny’s wide-parted legs. Danny catches Skulker’s deactivated head with two tiny, ghost imp legs flailing from the hole in the bottom. It’s sparking.
SKULKER: (high-pitched) Let me go!
Cut to the head with the ting legs flailing.
SKULKER: (high-pitched) I am the Skulker! The Skulker! Do you hear me?! Fear me!
Cut to Danny holding Skulker’s head. He pulls out the ectoplasmic imp by the legs and lets the head drop away, looking with surprise.
Cut to Tucker and Sam, and they look more surprised with Skulker’s secret revealed.
Cut to the ectoplasmic imp of Skulker, hanging upside down with his legs in Danny’s fingers. He raises his arms.
SKULKER: (high-pitched) I am the greatest hunter in all of (puts out his palms to explain) Ghost World! (points his finger) You will all (curls his hands and shakes them) fear me.
Pan right to a smiling Danny, not even remotely afraid. He looks to the side.
DANNY: Thermos, please.
Cut to Tucker. Zoom out as he handles the thermos, pointing it to Skulker in Danny’s hand as Danny floats above Tucker. Danny drops Skulker as the blue beam of the Thermos picks him up.
Tucker’s handling the thermos again, because his schedule that told him not to was discarded. Meep!
Cut to Skulker, his hand out and his legs trying to run as he is sucked into the hole by the blue beam.
SKULKER: You haven’t seen the last of me! I shall capture you all! (spins around as if in a vortex) You shall all be mine!
He gets out his final word before he falls in the hole.
SKULKER: Mine! Do you hear?!
Cut to the thermos in Tucker’s hand. The blue beam is sucked in, and Tucker caps it.
Cut to Danny Fenton, jumping down into the shot.
DANNY: Cool. (points up with his thumb) Let’s go home.
Cut to Tucker holding the thermos as he looks to Sam.
SAM: But you didn’t get anything you could use (puts her hands out at her sides) for your report!
Close-up on Sam.
SAM: You’re still gonna get a D!
Cut to Danny, realizing this. He hunches over in defeat.
DANNY: Oh, that’s okay.
Cut to the disconnected thermos with green wires by Danny’s foot.
DANNY: We stopped the bad guy--
Wait, that’s Tucker’s PDA? But then when Skulker gets back into his ectoskeleton by whatever means he does by BR, what’s keeping him on the purple back gorilla schedule? More ridiculous retcons.
Cut to Danny bending down to pick up the PDA while Tucker stands by with the thermos.
DANNY: --saved the gorilla--
Zoom out to reveal Danny looking at his friends while Sampson looks down to him. Sampson steps forward.
DANNY: --if that’s all I got done--
Close-up on Danny as he turns to Sampson.
DANNY: --then that’s-- (looks in shock) oh,--
Zoom in as he looks up, totally shocked.
DANNY: --my gosh!
Cut to a shot of the text “HE IS A SHE!” on yellow. Zoom out to reveal this is the cover of Genius Magazine. Sampson is on the cover with her hair curled and up in a bow, wearing lipstick. Maddie is holding the shoulders of her son, whose hands are on his hips as he looks back at her. Jack’s head is just poking behind Sampson, confused. The caption reads “GENIUS CHILD OF GENIUS WOMAN DISCOVERS GORILLA MALE ACTUALLY A FEMALE!” A hand reaches in to pick it up.
I can see Connie bypassed the fact Danny wasn’t a woman by claiming he was a “child” of a genius woman. But will it please the woman readers? Especially because Jack was shoved behind the gorilla looking clueless.
Cut to Lancer, reading the magazine. Zoom out slowly.
LANCER: (reading) “Brooding genius Daniel Fenton did what no other researcher dared to do.
Cut to the class. Everyone listens attentively except for one boy in the front row, who looks rather bored but listening. Pan left to show the trip, Sam behind Danny and Tucker next to Danny. Danny is clearly happy with his accomplishment.
LANCER: (offscreen) Got close enough to this rare purple back--
Cut to Lancer, reading.
LANCER: --gorilla to realize that Sampson (looks in surprise) was actually a Delilah”.
Lancer puts down the magazine and looks disbelieving.
LANCER: Nobody at that zoo ever bothered to see if it was a boy or a girl?
Cut to Danny, offering a suggestion.
DANNY: That’s weird, huh? (puts up a palm) Well, maybe they were respecting her (puts down his hand) privacy.
Most zoos don’t do this, as that would be rather inattentive to the care of the animals. Certainly there would be some signs that would obviously make it a female. For example, every month the gorilla would menstruate. It’s rather ironic, because said female gorilla was voiced by a man named Michael Gough. Talk about cross-dressing a voice.
Cut to Danny and Tucker sitting in their desks. An Asian girl in pink sits in front of them. Lancer walks up with the magazine in one hand and holding a paper in the other.
LANCER: Well, Fenton, I have to admit I’m impressed. You wanted to get your grade up so bad you risked you risked getting mauled (he puts the paper face-down at Danny’s desk, Danny looks at it) by a gorilla.
Cut to Danny’s paper. Lancer’s hand hides the grade. His hand is removed, revealing “C”. Zoom in and rotate on it.
DANNY: (offscreen) A “C”?
The text on Danny’s paper is legible and I know the first sentence is about the purple back gorilla, and the rest being legible nonsense, but I can’t quite read it from here. Oh well.
Cut to Danny, looking down. Lancer is in the foreground.
DANNY: I almost get killed by a gho- (stops and looks away to correct himself) rilla, (goes back to protesting Lancer) and all I get is a “C”?
Cut to Lancer. He smiles nastily.
LANCER: Life’s a big mystery, isn’t it, Fenton?
I can’t tell if that’s Lancer being evil or Lancer making a pun. Both, I’m guessing.
The bell rings as Lancer turns and walks away.
Cut to the door to the classroom. A girl in a pink belly shirt and skirt walks out with an Asian boy in a red hoodie following. Lancer walks up to the door after them.
LANCER: Next time you want to get your grade up…
Cut to Lancer. He turns around.
LANCER: Try the library.
How would the library be any better? We just made the cover of a magazine with our findings!
Cut to Danny, standing up in his chair with his fists on the desk. Tucker and Sam support him on either side.
SAM: Well!
Danny relaxes his arms as Sam shrugs happily.
SAM: It’s better than a “D”, right?
Close-up on Danny.
DANNY: Oh man, if only I had something I could take this out on!
Cut to Tucker and Sam looking at a seriously irked Danny. All three look in surprise when they head a voice.
THE BOX GHOST: (offscreen) I am The Box Ghost!
Cut to The Box Ghost, floating above and shaking a fist at a box full of folders.
THE BOX GHOST: And once I empty (points his finger at the box) you of your useless (leans in to rant at it) papers, (smiles and curls his fingers) your marvelous square-ness shall be--
Pan up as he raises his hands and shakes them.
THE BOX GHOST: --mine!
The Box Ghost puts his hands on his hips and laughs.
Cut to Sam and Tucker looking at Danny, who looks at this turn of fate over his shoulder. He turns around and transforms into Danny Phantom, getting into a stance ready to beat The Box Ghost up.
DANNY: Hello, misplaced aggression!
Close up on Tucker checking his PDA.
TUCKER: You’ve got (looks to the side) five minutes.
Cut to the trio. Danny is ready than ever.
DANNY: Which is four more than I’ll need.
He flies off and sounds of beating are heard along with sounds of pain from The Box Ghost offscreen. Red and yellow impact stars fall into the shot. Sam puts her hands on her hips.
THE BOX GHOST: (offscreen) Beware!
Iris out on Tucker and Sam.
